With easy access one mile east of Hwy 177 just 8 miles north of The Artesian and Chickasaw National Recreation Area, this authentic log house built in 2002 has a wrap around porch and wood burning fireplace and 60 acres of peace and privacy behind a gated entry. The home is made for entertaining your family or extended group, and we hope you will make yourselves at home at our family farm. Make your favorite meals in the fully-equipped kitchen and serve breakfast at the dining table for 10 or grill on the gas grill and camp stove in the covered breezeway with 5x8 ft. custom harvest table and benches with mason jar chandelier near the outdoor bonfire. Kitchen is equipped with electric cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pots, kettle, toaster, blender, crockpot, and many basic dry goods. If you get in late at night without an opportunity to grocery shop, you will not go hungry here!
Take a family bike ride down the 1/4 mile gravel driveway, make a picnic and hit the pond area for some swimming, collect eggs from the chickens for tomorrow's breakfast, pick a peach, pear, plum, apple, or apricot from one of the fruit trees depending on the time of year, or collect pecans from the 46 native pecan trees. 8 stall horse barn. Board games and books for all ages are provided for your enjoyment.
Log House Four Bedrooms - master with king bed with memory foam mattress and attached master bath includes two sinks, shower and tub, king bed #2 has direct access to the outside, queen bed #3, and full/full bunk and twin captain's bed in bedroom #4. Hammock and plenty of porch furniture allow you to take in the 360 degree view at any time of day. You don't want to miss these sunsets and stargazing!
The 2bd/1 bath guest house has a king bed in one bedroom and two queen beds in the other. Large walk in closets in each bedroom. Full kitchen with dining area and large laundry/mud room with washer and dryer.
The barn bunkhouse has a king bedroom and bunk room with two, three-tier bunks for a total sleeping capacity of 8 in the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse has a 3/4 bath with large shower and access to a full-size refrigerator.
Each bathroom is equipped with new quality towels for indoor use and also older ones for use at the pond, when visiting the national park, etc. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and hairdryers are provided for your convenience.
Two sets of full washer and dryer (one in main house and one in guest house), a few sets of Muck Boots and Carhartt coats are for your use and convenience. Firewood for the indoor fireplace and outdoor bonfire are provided. This was our primary residence for a period of time, so it is fully stocked for your convenience. Anything you might need can likely be found by opening a cabinet or two.
Outside, we have horses, cattle, and chickens. The house is very kid friendly. Lots of toys, games, and books. There is plenty of parking space here for long trailers, extra cars, etc. We also have both 50 and 30 amp plugs for RVs. RVs are charged $40/night and this space is only available to those who rent the whole farm.
If you plan to travel with your horses, access to the horse stalls, paddocks, and automatic waterers can be arranged. We do not allow any horse riding, ATV use, or target practice by guests at our farm due to insurance policy regulations.
